Ms. Jordalayne is the ultimate proper lady. She never jumps on you, always asks politely for attention, waits her turn and takes her treats like her little finger is poking out, like sipping tea. She loves to run and is extremely committed to getting the tennis ball, but very relaxed and calm when play is not the first priority. She'll simply walk up and lay her head on your lap, asking "If you have a minute, I'd love a scratch or three."
She loves to chase the birds, run and fetches like a champ. Her personality definitely shows the influence of the English Cream, mellow and gentle. She loves to lay with you, and snuggles her nose right into your neck. She's a great bed buddy.
She's lightly colored and a very "neat" little lady. The other dogs are frequently mud from the chest down from running the acreage, while she'll jump over mud puddles and goes around wet spots. Unless, of course, she's after the tennis ball or bird....then all bets are off!
She frequently gest more than her share of inside time, simply because she's the neatest and cleanest dog to let in. Not to mention she's very smart. When I have to open all the gates to get equipment from one area to the next, I have to put the dogs into their shed for a few minutes until the area is secured. She always seems to know when that's going to happen and simply moves away from everyone and finds a nice out-of-sight place to lay down. When the headcount shows one is missing, it's always Jordy and I just pretend I don't know because she doesn't try to get through the open gate anyway! She miraculously reappears once everything is secure again. She thinks she's so smart....even if she does get out she just goes to the front porch and waits for me to come find her and let her back in.
If she feels it's her turn to spend the night in the house, all the other dogs will go into the shed for their nightly treat and she'll go stand by the gate, foregoing the treat. In fact, even if it isn't her turn, she asks so little of me and asks so politely, that I haven't the heart to tell her no and I just find room for one more dog for the night!
