O'Connor is my big boy. His claim to fame is his elegant moves. He has a way of moving that is very smooth and fluid, so much so that others comment on how much they enjoy just watching him. He just flows. Unless, of course, there's a tennis ball involved, then he flat out runs!
He also does this crazy thing with moles. He can hear them in the ground, so he has this "hunting" routine. He pounces twice, barks three times and then digs at the ground. Over and over again. It's a hoot to watch, but to my knowledge he doesn't have any "kills" to his name. So sometimes, I just shake my head when watching his mole hunting and think, "Oh, smooth move."
While he may run to get the tennis ball, getting it sometimes is not his goal. He thinks fetching is a contact sport. You throw the ball, everyone runs for it and he runs after the group trying to decide which dog to tackle, usually Lily Love. As he's aged, he is actually first to the tennis ball quite often, however, he politically leaves it for Jake, the senior stud.
He's also my "loudest" player of the group. Lily Love & O'Connor play together alot, with Lily being his favorite play toy. He is very vocal when he plays with the other dogs, which can be annoying! However, it's great fun to watch when he and Lily are "scoping" each other out for the next round. They crouch down and start the "carebear" stare, waiting to see which one will make the first move to the next round of tackles!
He currently resides with my son and grandchildren, in part because multiple studs tend to get testy with each other at breeding time and equally important, my grandson is a real dog lover and needed one in his own family!
He is AKC registered and hip, elbow and heart checked.
